No, it's more buttanine. |
There's a tennis forum where when people goof up hitting the ball it gets called a misshoot or misstuff.
I nearly posted about this the other day, but I feel that "The Clbuttic Mistake" is one of the best examples of software WTFery available. It's so simple, yet so difficult!
Another clbuttic case of regex replacement misuse is the word medireview.
I'd like to read an article about African Wild Butt.
The Gamespy-based game browser in Neverwinter Nights and its sequel suffers from similar zealous behavior, except that Gamespy chooses to play it safe and nukes the whole word.
It can get really confusing when you want to know what character class a person is going to play. |
I was excited about learning a new term ... then I got to the sentence about regex.
Fantastic! |
Welcome to "Bottom of the Barrel Monday", apparently.

The worst way for a president to go is buttbuttination.

Aww, I was thinking that too, but I had to finish mowing the grbutt before I could post.
Of course, I had to go Google for "Clbuttic". This one caught my eye:
http://www.bluegrassworld.com/music/Is-the-song-Dueling-Banjos-considered-blue-grbutt.html Not only do we have a great Deliverance reference, but it also gives us some great new phrases like: Is the song Dueling Banjos considered blue grbutt? ... Kentucky, the Bluegrbutt State ... ... mandolin, banjo, fiddle, guitar and bbutt ... ... clbuttic bluegrbutt sound ... ... buttociating ... We also get a shiny bonus word of "rebreastled". Which also means that there are sites about "Idenbreasty Theft" and the "United States Consbreastution". I'm buttuming that everyone is enbreastled to their own brand of censorship. |

Odd that all the sites with this censorship are also hateful and mbuttively anti-homoloveual...
No suggestions for "clbuttic", but I have encountered similarly baffling non-words on "engrish" foreign websites- apparently certain languages intuitively suggest that "intelligentize" (Chinese) and "complectation" (Russian) should be actual words.
Screw this, I'm going back to my game of Buttbuttin's Creed.
That has to be the dumbest sexing way to handle swear words.

It was the link above the duelling banjos that caught my eye: www.jucee.org/China/ What-did-the-British-Embbutty-do-for-this-British-National-Overseas-pbuttport-holder.html
A pbuttport-holder sounds painful! |

I once found a step-by-step guide for disbuttembling and rebuttembling a Dell Labreastude laptop. I thought it sounded quite catchy!

I feel pity for all of the Buttembly Language Programmers who frequent this site. :(
I'll confess -- I just spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out what the hell 'clbuttic' meant. And I didn't even figure it out myself.

And Authentification... broken english is the world language. And it is quite fair, everyone has to learn it; even people knowing english. |
The real WTF is that apparently Americans can't spell "arse" correctly.
Last time I checked "ass" was a synonym for equus asinus, an animal in the equine family. |
Ha ha finally got it....
The Buttociated Press should definitely look into employing this technology.

I can add "planification" to this ever growing list... |
I first came across this sort of issue about 15 years ago in an online Eliza bot. The first release didn't check for whitespace, so you could really annoy it by saying "Scunthorpe" again and again.
Mind you, maybe the bot had actually been to Scunthorpe and was sounding off about the lovely scenic view of oil terminals just up the Humber... |
TRWTF is that the guy is talking about how great NeXT's are.

Well, at least "authentification" & "intelligentize" make logical sense. These second-language speakers follow English rules to mildly odd, but useful, conclusions. Compare them to a man who only speaks English, and has an Ivy League degree. He came up with "misunderestimate", which means the opposite of what he likely wanted to say. |

Uhm... "Failure to underestimate"? As in "Overestimate"? That still can't be right, since underestimate implies wrongness, so failure to underestimate ought to mean something like "you should have falsely estimated x to be low but didn't". Okay, please enlighten me, what the **** does "misunderestimate" really mean? |
I always like "blueuce" and "greenuce".

NeXT's what? |
Even badbutt developers make mistakes.
I never had this problem when I was writing ASP.NET code in Cpound with a regex (registered explorer) command...
This is always the lamest response. "i'm taking my ball and going home". Odds are you will be back ... and if you don't, then no one will really even know. |

DELETE THIS COMMENT.

Speaking of censorship.. TRWTF is how disabling comments on MFD wasn't enough. Now we'll remove any comment mentioning MFD anywhere. It's really too bad because I enjoyed reading the comments and reader contributed versions of the MFD. In fact it could have been pretty cool to put up the MFD for the day, and then toss up a blank with no text and everyone can try to make their own jokes with it and post in the comments. It would have been like a caption contest. |
Perhaps they were trying to shorten some words but weren't up to date with the chat jargon of the 21st century?
clbuttic = Classic But Typical? |
Thank you for the hint. Brain not working today... was very frustrated "Clbuttic!? Clbuttic!? I dont get it!" until I re-read the hint. :/
Now thats Hi-larious. |
Wow. And I though't I've seen excrementty solutions. It also seems nowadays you can have such exotic occupations as an buttistant, a clbutt tutor, or a buttist. I wonder if these people wish their families Merry Chirstmbutt...
Seriously, what the tenderly love? |
The funny thing about this WTF is that, while it was intended to "hide" (censor) the "bad word", it makes you recognize its presence in many other words where you wouldn't have spotted it!
You can get around it. For a very long time, many people have dual cla.ssed as a Rogue/As.sas.sin. It's a pain in the a.ss, though. |
